Bivastat is an anticoagulant that prevents the formation of harmful blood clots. Bivastat is an anticoagulant (thrombin inhibitor), prescribed for preventing blood clots in patients with unstable angina undergoing percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty ((PTCA) procedure to open blocked arteries).
